When our local Church leaders asked that we have a pictures of a Temple through out our homes, he related a story.
A woman on the east coast was lamenting to her friend about her youngest son wanting to go to sea as a profession. His father had been a Ship’s Captain and gone down with his ship. His older brothers had also been lost at sea. He was all she had left. How could she keep him from going she asked her friend. As her friend looked around the house, he saw on every wall pictures of the sea and ships sailing on it. He knew there was little that could be done.
The talk then ended with this plea. Pictures of LDS Temples are readily available, please take the time to have one in each of your children’s rooms and in your home for them to see. There is no edifice on earth that inspires feelings of peach and divinity like the temple. Each one is unique and beautiful, just like the people they serve.
